About
|
Since
its organization in 1982, the Friends of the Lewiston Public
Library have supported the library through advocacy and
fundraising efforts. The group was founded to "promote
understanding and appreciation of the functions, the
materials and services offered by the library". The Friends
primarily raise funds through their used book sales for
expansion and improvement of the services offered to the
Lewiston community by the library. The Friends support and
assist the library by sponsoring both adult and children's
programs throughout the year. |
Books for Babies

|
Books
for Babies is a national literacy program that
acquaints parents of newborns with the important role they
play in the development of their children. It is new service offered by the Friends of the
Library for Lewiston residents who have a newborn. The
Friends are working with St. Mary's Hospital to hand out an
Invitation to every Lewiston resident who has a new baby to
come visit the Library. Upon visiting the library, the
resident will be given a gift for their newborn. (If
you are a Lewiston resident, who had a baby elsewhere,
please feel free to stop by the Library for your Invitation
and gift.) |
