Friendly Gathering

The annual Friendly Gathering was held on Wednesday, October 24 at the library.  Friends member, Jo Merino, was honored with a lifetime membership for her dedication to the Friends group.

The Friends also presented the library with a check for $4200.00 to purchase playaways for another year.  All those in attendance enjoyed good food, music and conversations.

About

Since its organization in 1982, the Friends of the Lewiston Public Library have supported the library through advocacy and fundraising efforts. The group was founded to "promote understanding and appreciation of the functions, the materials and services offered by the library". The Friends primarily raise funds through their used book sales for expansion and improvement of the services offered to the Lewiston community by the library. The Friends support and assist the library by sponsoring both adult and children's programs throughout the year.
